The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services towards the community.

SASSA are going to be rendering providers for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency claimed it is alarmed with regard to the higher range of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to your higher number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no thoroughly functional office committed to service the area on a regular basis. The support level designed for intervention activities a higher influx of opportunity beneficiaries, that makes it complicated for the Workplace to attend read more to all people who stop by a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra means to empower the servicing of all clients and increase use of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
